| Over the last months, due to the pandemic, we have seen a transition from the traditional learning model to a liquid-hybrid one. The question now is: What will the future look like? One thing is clear: going back to the previous model would not be taking advantage of what we have learned so far. It is time to stop and think. Will we build our next teaching method along flexible lines to give our students more choices, depending on their situation? Will studio-culture stay the same? How will we use technology now that we have accelerated and exploited its advantages and experienced some of its limitations? Will we look at physical spaces in the same way? How can technology and physical space be more integrated? These questions and others will be addressed by our Dean, Martha Thorne, at the Architectural Record’s 2020 Innovation Conference. This not to be missed event of the year will open a global debate about what is next in education. This prestigious occasion will be a milestone for the school and a conversation worth listening to. |
| Photographs credits: Alexandra Cabri (Frank Gehry); Saverio Truglia (Jeanne Gang); Ed Reeve (David Adjave) | Dean Thorne will be connecting with some of the leading figures in architecture such as Frank Gehry – Pritzker Prize winner in 1989 -, Jeanne Gang – 2019 most influential architect according to TIME’s Magazine - David Adjaye – 2021 recipient of the RIBA Royal Gold Medal – or Neri Oxman - founder of The Mediated Matter Group at the MIT - among others. Those are not only role models and sources of inspiration for many of us but are also behind a range of creative solutions for the built environment of today and the future. Take this opportunity and register now. |
