| | Summer Booster: The City of the Future July/August - Hybrid | Are the Cities of Today in equilibrium? Most of them are not, but the Cities of the Future certainly must be. IE University launched the Summer Booster, a summer program for students and recent graduates to keep us all activin these uncertain times and to bring together diverse topics and teachers from all five Schools at IE. Professor Manuel Pérez Romero and Dean Martha Thorne conducted a workshop about The City of the Future to promote an understanding of the interrelationship of city systems, people, and our environment. |

| Ana Corina de la Fuente while addressing her classmates during the Bachelors' online graduation | 24 Bachelor in Architectural Studies (BAS) students celebrated an online gathering with their professors last June 30 to mark the date of their Graduation, waiting for a face to face event in the future. Paula López Vallespir and Mikhail Frantsuzov were recognized as the Best Student and the student with the Best Final Project respectively during the BAS online event. We listened to the emotional words by Ana Corina de la Fuente, one of the graduates, who focused on all the experiences and love they shared in the last five years of their lives at IE, and that have become a big family. | #IEBAS #IEGRADUATION |
| Martha Thorne after naming Alessandro Vita Best Student during the MRED online graduation | July 17 witnessed IE University Master's online Graduation, bringing together more than 1800 graduates from different corners of the world, including our Master in Real Estate Development students. The event started with the opening words of Santiago Íñiguez de Onzoño, President of IE University, and the recent graduates took part in activities such a cook-along show conducted by 2-Michelin star chef Dani García, and a private online DJ set with Steve Aoki. In the MRED graduation segment, Alessandro Vita was named Best Student, and Alfonso Benavides received the mention of Best Professor. During the ceremony we had the opportunity to listen to Pablo Isla (Executive Chairman at Inditex), who shared the following tips for success with the graduates: "Don't forget that people are always a priority. Whatever you do, do it with passion! Show commitment, go the extra mile. Be humble and keep your feet on the ground. Pursue excellence." As Dean Martha Thorne said to the graduates "We want IE to be one of those pillars you go back to" Congratulations!! We hope to see you soon! | #IEMRED #IEGRADUATION |

| | Originally from Iraq but based in Dubai, Rasha Al-Tekreeti is an independent, self-motivated, and passionate Interior Designer. She is consistently looking for inspiration from nature, traveling to cities, and exploring cultures. One of Rasha’s favorite hobbies is horseback riding, and traveling: "I dream of traveling the world, exploring the fascinating cities, hunting for authenticity in villages, and meeting exciting people to learn from their cultures!" | | As a response to end-of-year showcase cancellations due to the coronavirus outbreak, the prestigious magazine i-D and ARTSTHREAD launched a global graduate showcase initiative for undergraduate and graduate design students: the Global Design Graduate Show 2020. We are happy to announce that Bachelor in Design students Yoko Hwang Kaetsu and Nicole Andreina Beltran were invited to take part in the competition with their Design Studio project HOOLY. "HOOLY is an autonomous service robot within the Holiday Inn Express brand, designed to ensure that guests are taken care of at any time" We wish you the best of luck in the competition!
