Master in Real Estate Development @ Lisbon

The Master in Real Estate Development students went on their second trip as part of the program. This time, they visited Lisbon where they saw real-world examples of developments related to concepts they learned during the course.

Some of the key places they visited included the waterfront, the largest urban regeneration project in Lisbon and Margueira, an abandoned shipyard owned by a public company. They attended the Master Class Understanding Lisbon, to get a closer look at Lisbon’s geography, urban history and current trends by Miguel Judas professor in the Bachelor in Architecture; a native lisboeta, he is Vice-President of the Iberian Docomomo (a foundation dedicated to the documentation and conservation of buildings, sites and neighborhoods and the city's Modern Movement).

The Keys to a Prosperous and Healthy City

Ideas magazine, IE's biannual publication that focuses on different matters of general interest, looks at health as the main theme for the Spring 2018 edition.

One of the areas in which design can play a major role is in cities, and Guzmán de Yarza, Director of the Master in Strategic Design of Spaces, has contributed to the topic providing a list of strategies to create prosperous and healthy cities on three different levels: physical and urban, cultural and sociological, and technological.

Real Estate: Influencing Women

IE School of Architecture and Design advocates for the role of women in real estate.
Proof of this commitment is how actively our professors in the Master in Real Estate Development (MRED) participate in different events and articles to support the cause.

Professors Beatriz Corredor and Leticia Ponz are featured in an article published on Idealista about gender parity and how the role of women has changed in the Real Estate sector over recent years. They share their vision of the benefits of women's input in real estate and their desire for actions to break the glass ceiling. You can read what they said here

The Co-Director of MRED and Vice-President of WIRES (Women in Real Estate Spain), Carmen Panadero, regularly participates in events on this subject.
One such event was REWOMEN, a panel that took place in Madrid on April 12, in which Carmen, Silvia López and other women professionals discussed the trends and challenges that women in real estate in Spain are facing today.

We asked our faculty and students about this. See what they said in this video.
