Housing of the Future

The IE Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center and IE School of Architecture and Design are organizing a Venture Day in Singapore for all start-up initiatives related to the overall theme housing for the future.

The event encourages young companies related to housing in any way, from environmental responsiveness, resilience technology, finance, connecting communities, materials and construction, services to support appropriate, to affordable housing to participate. Finalist companies compete to become the winner of the IE Venture Day.

The event will be preceded by a two-day Housing Symposium in partnership with the Singapore University of Technology and Design, held in the National Design Centre on January 29 and 30.

Experimentation Workshop @ IE University

Daniel Canogar, internationally recognized artist and professor in the Bachelor in Architectural Studies, has recently held a creative experimentation project at the Quintanar Palace in Segovia with the students of the Bachelor where he teaches.

The workshop was a collaborative project between IE School of Architecture and Design and the Quintanar de Segovia Palace, a center for innovation and development for design and culture under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the regional government of Castilla y León.

Maricruz Pedrera, Project Designer @ Zara Studio (Inditex)

Maricruz Pedrera, architect from Seville, joined IE School of Architecture and Design in 2016. 

She started working in Zara while studying the Master in Strategic Design of Spaces and she is still part of the team in their headquarters in Arteixo (A Coruña). 

She is involved with the implementation of the BIM process as she designs different shops in very diverse and interesting locations, such as Venice, Warsaw and her hometown, Seville.

Martha Thorne, Dean of IE School of Architecture and Design, took part in the TEDx IE in Madrid where she offered the talk What Makes a City Liveable?

During her talk, Martha explained how the principles of good design lead to creating more liveable cities for everyone.
